After nine solid years, rock star Melissa Etheridge and her wife Tammy Lyn Michaels announced their separation last April 15, 2010. The two exchanged vows in Malibu and had twins in October of 2006. Their daughter, Johnnie Rose and son, Miller, were conceived with the help of an anonymous sperm donor.
If you are as dead curious as we are on the reason behind this celebrity breakup, despite the recent battle of Melissa with breast cancer, and how Tammy stayed by her side through the entire struggle – then here’s a statement from a source who is very close to the former couple:
“There’s no third party involved. They just drifted apart over time. There’s no animosity whatsoever – they are on friendly terms. They’re co-parenting their twins. They are living apart but share custody of the kids.”
Just like any Etheridge, no drama just pure straight talk. However, the term “drifting apart” has really been becoming somewhat overused.
